Bio
My name is Glenn Bartlett and I am a Plastic Surgeon specialising in surgery for the ear.
I was born in Auckland, New Zealand, and trained in Plastic Surgery in Auckland and Christchurch during the 1990s. I subsequently trained in Craniofacial Surgery at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, Australia.
For the past 16 years I have spent half of my time as a Paediatric Reconstructive Plastic Surgeon at Middlemore and Starship hospitals, and the other half as a Cosmetic Plastic Surgeon at the New Zealand Institute of Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery. For a number of years I have been the lead Plastic Surgeon for the Microtia/Atresia clinic at Starship hospital.
Ear surgery can be technically demanding. In particular cartilage ear construction leaves little room for error. I enjoy the challenge this surgery presents and helping children achieve their dreams of two ears.
I have treated many prominent ears and have come to appreciate the subtle differences between them. Surgery needs to be tailored to the individual to achieve a natural result.
